Job Description
Service Technician / Service Engineer / Mechanical Engineer required to join a leading engineering supplier based in Kent.
The successful Service Technician / Service Engineer / Mechanical Engineer will provide mechanical repair, service, and maintenance on various industrial systems, including hydraulics, hydraulic hoses, pneumatics, valves, compressed air, cylinders, and generators. The role will involve a mixture of workshop-based work near Tonbridge and field-based work at customer sites in the surrounding areas.
The Service Technician / Service Engineer / Mechanical Engineer will have a strong mechanical bias, focusing on hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, motors, gearboxes, generators, hydraulic power units, filtration units, pipework, and other similar industrial mechanical systems.

Service Technician / Service Engineer / Mechanical Engineer Role
- Provide mechanical repair, service, and maintenance on various industrial and mechanical engineering systems.
- Undertake planned and preventative maintenance, provide advice, diagnostics, and fault-finding for industrial systems, including hydraulics, hydraulic hoses, pneumatics, valves, compressed air, cylinders, and generators.
- Install hydraulic and pneumatic products into various sectors of the manufacturing industry.
- Perform emergency breakdown fault finding and repairs on various hydraulic, pneumatic, and compressed air equipment.
- Split time between workshop-based tasks near Tonbridge and field-based work at customer sites in surrounding areas.
- Liaise with various engineering departments to ensure efficient service delivery.
Service Technician / Service Engineer / Mechanical Engineer Requirements
- Proven diagnostic skills on complex industrial or mechanical engineering systems.
- Experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Service Technician, Installation Engineer, Hydraulic Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, M&E Engineer, Electromechanical Engineer, or similar with a strong mechanical bias.
- Experience fault finding and fault diagnosis on electromechanical systems.
- Hands-on workshop experience, including the strip-down, inspection, reporting, and rebuild of hydraulic repairs when required.
- Service experience on industrial systems, including hydraulics, hydraulic hoses, pneumatics, valves, compressed air, cylinders, generators, or similar.
- Hydraulic hose experience is highly advantageous.
- Willingness to commute to the workshop near Tonbridge and field-based work across surrounding areas as required.
