EduTalent Group are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in Kent for a reliable and proactive Cover Supervisor to support teaching and learning across the school.
<\/p>

As the Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during short -term teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and focused. When not covering lessons, you will use your initiative to support a range of activities including enrichment sessions, registration, PHSE, school trips, and exam invigilation.

Key Responsibilities:<\/b>
<\/b><\/p>

  • Supervise classes during short -term teacher absence, following lesson plans provided by teachers.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Manage student behaviour and engagement in line with school rules.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Support pupils’ learning by guiding them through tasks and providing assistance as needed.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Deliver registration and provide notices or information to students, attending assemblies when required.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Assist with PHSE delivery, enrichment activities, and school day trips.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Support internal and external exam invigilation and administration as required.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Use school technology to enhance lessons and learning experiences.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Provide feedback on pupil behaviour, engagement, and lesson delivery to the Cover Department.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Undertake administrative tasks and participate in INSET and professional development activities.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Contribute to safeguarding and promotion of student welfare in line with school policies.

    Requirements<\/b>

    Essential:<\/b>
    <\/p>

    • Experience working with children of relevant ages.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Knowledge of relevant policies, codes of practice, and legislation.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Ability to manage classroom behaviour and create a purposeful learning environment.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification/experience.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Ability to use initiative, work independently, and adapt to changing circumstances.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students and staff.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
      <\/p><\/li><\/ul>

      Desirable:<\/b>
      <\/p>

      • Previous experience as a cover supervisor or teaching assistant.
        <\/p><\/li>

      • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
        <\/p><\/li>

      • Competence in using ICT to support teaching and administration.
        <\/p><\/li>

      • Flexibility to assist in trips, enrichment, or PHSE activities.
        <\/p><\/li><\/ul>
